What's this book about?

Katie Delimon’s debut memoir takes us on an unforgettable—and deeply relatable—adventure as she unabashedly shines a spotlight on all of her humanness including her shame, trauma, recovery, and ultimately, her spiritual awakening. Woven into Delimon’s journey of self-realization and healing is a remarkable love story of a twin flame journey, which just gets more incredible with each turn of the page! (Don't worry; you’ll learn exactly  what a “twin flame is” as you read on!)

After experiencing life in the deep backwoods of West Virginia, the grimy brilliance of New York City, and the beautiful beaches of Australia, Delimon ultimately begins her search for serenity during a stint in South East Asia, where she’s robbed and left penniless, catapulting her desire to uncover calm out of chaos and mindfulness out of mindlessness.

It’s a true story of transformation, generational trauma and parental loss; of finding solace and safety in the silence of ashrams; of love dying, but then ultimately wildly blooming in the deserts of Burning Man. Delimon is a phoenix rising from the ashes, a woman who burned through the layers of who she thought she should be, in order to find out who she truly was.

What People are Saying...

I inhaled this book in 48h! I was hooked on Katie's raw, vulnerable and unapologetic portrayal of her incredible life story, which was both inspiring yet deeply emotional. Katie pries her life right open, and takes us on her brave journey of growth, love, forgiveness, and loss in the most transparent way, exposing the weaknesses and humanness in each of us. I was struck many times by her strength and unwavering optimism which shone through even in the toughest of circumstances. This is such a powerful story, which is entertaining, insightful, and deeply impactful. It stayed with me for weeks.

Hi Katie
I finished your book a few days ago and really loved it. Just now had the time to write to you. But several times when I was reading I wanted to reach out and give you a warm hug. Bless you for writing your own story!
You're an inspiring dynamo with so much to give. Your hard won wisdom about how to live in peace with yourself in this world alongside your life-affirming nature shines through you.
You have a compelling style of telling a story, frank and honest and relatable that no doubt will take your readers to hard to reach places inside themselves for some healthy soul searching.
I really hope your book is well taken up. And I'm very very glad that you are my yoga teacher!
In appreciation,
Kerrie

Katie,

I am so excited to see how you have grown from the young lady in seventh grade reading class to the young woman you have become today. I appreciate how you
opened yourself up in the book and gave so much of yourself. I admire your adventurous spirit to travel and take on the world! My favorite parts of the books included your perseverance to uncover who you are and your purpose in life. I would love to be a part of your mailing list.

May you continue to live your excellence and have a happy, healthy life.

Great autobiographical story esp. for young adults

I really loved this book. It's a rip-roaring read that had me constantly wondering what was going to happen next. There is an early hint that it's a happy ending to ease your mind but you just wonder how the story could possibly wind up there. Katie has given a brave and frank account of her youthful life, trusting in readers to recognise an authentic offering from a fabricated page turner hoping to grab some publicity. She is evidently writing her own story and she has a compelling style that is relatable. Several times when I was reading I wanted to reach out and give her a warm hug. It felt like the book takes its readers to hard to reach places inside themselves for some healthy soul searching. The story tells of Katie's 'life journey' to finally attaining hard-won kitchen table wisdom about how to live in peace with oneself in this world as it is. This book is a life-affirming read and among the offerings in its pages is the message that no matter what manner of adversity has beset you in your youth you can be gutsy enough to create a rich and meaningful life once you commit to listening to your own innate wisdom. Katie is an inspiring dynamo with so much to give.

I'm not usually one for reading memoirs as I find they can be a little contrived, however, I couldn't put this one down.
Katie doesn't sugarcoat anything in this book. At times the stories she shares are uncomfortable and painful, but they were all 100% necessary to understand her full journey.
Katie teaches you (through sharing her own experiences) that small steps in the right direction can bring about massive change. And whilst we all trip up every now and again, it doesn't mean we have to completely start over or give up, we just have to learn and move on.
Follow your heart and trust your gut.
100% would recommend.
