Bliss Busters – Demystifying Meditation
Always wanted to try meditation but had all the reasons not to!? We’ll I’m here to demystify the art of mediation and show you that you don’t need to listen to those bliss busters!
BLISS BUSTER: A PERSON OR THING THAT STOPS YOU FROM YOUR BLISS (OR FEELING OF JOY)
Bliss Buster: I can’t meditate because I don’t have time!
Research has proven that it only takes 1-3 minutes a day of meditation to see a significant difference. If you have time to brush your teeth, you have time to meditate. Take a closer look to see if maybe it’s a priority thing or your belief in it?
Bliss Buster: I can’t meditate because I can’t sit like the Buddha with my legs crossed legged!
Have no fear, a chair is near!! You do not need to be sitting crossed legged in order to meditate. Sitting up is preferable so you don’t fall asleep but you can do it anywhere in any position, even stopped at a red light or waiting in line at the grocery store.
Bliss Buster: I can’t meditate because I can’t stop thinking!
Welcome to the human brain, you’d be dead or “Enlighted” if you didn’t have thoughts. Meditation is not meant to clear thoughts but rather slow them down and sometimes help “focus” so eventually more time and energy is dedicated to the present moment (instead of the past or future).
Bliss Buster: I can’t meditate because I will lose my edge or creativity!
Studies have shown that a meditation practices actually increases creativity. If you are one of those people who just hates to conform because “everyone” is doing it….don’t tell anyone and feel the effects for yourself!
Bliss Buster : I can’t meditate because I am afraid of what I might feel, see or hear about myself!
Isn’t it better to see the truth than be blinded by the fake light? Opening up Pandora’s box can always be scary but hiding never helped anybody!
Bliss Buster: I can’t meditate because it is too self-indulgent!
You’ve got to be so self-FULL before you can become self-LESS. Put your oxygen mask on first before assisting others. We all know why this is important, I even wrote a blog post about it!
